I completed my Autism assessment training in the application of ADOS and ADI-R from a world leading academic from Cambridge University. I completed my postgraduate Psychiatry Therapeutics Certificate in 2018 from Aston University, and subsequently completed a postgraduate Clinically Enhanced Pharmacist Independent Prescriber qualification, achieving a distinction in both. I completed my postgraduate clinical diploma in 2014 from Keele University. I started my academic path with a Masters of Pharmacy from De Montfort University in 2009.
Gurmat is currently working towards a doctorate. He is developing his practitioners’ skills and knowledge in the areas of Autism and ADHD. The research component will explore the impact of ADHD in children with Autism.
Gurmat developed a systematic, evidence-based, and reflective approach to prescribing practice in psychiatry.
Gurmat developed his specialist psychiatry skills to validate, recommend and critically appraise the use of medicines in a range of mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar, mood disorders, and dementia.
Gurmat furthered his pharmacological understanding via this diploma. Specifically this covered consultative and communication skills, and decision-making in complex clinical situations that may be acute or chronic.
